I grow straight up as years go by
from where I can see you below
while trying to eke out a living
going nuts with pressures in life.
The bark, the fronds, the husk
the nut flesh, the water and oil
do know I got everything to offer
as food or fuel to run your life.
Taste the milk from the nuts
enjoy the pure coconut water
you can eat the sweet ripe flesh
all you need to help preserve yours.
While stranded on a beach
waiting for help to arrive soon
pray to get an instance of me nearby
have the sense to break open the fruit.
To feed your thoughts and good self
do plant my seedlings and see me grow
you won’t be disappointed ever in life
for the Lord did make our lifespans equal.
Excellent …”Kalpavruksham” ! π
Thank you π
Good one π

Welcome Sir, I really enjoyed your perspective through this beautiful poem.
Sunith, as you know I love trees and the way they carry wisdom in their bodies… Your beautiful poem speaks to these myteries with great heart.
I am so glad you liked it
Coming from the land of coconuts, the importance of the coconut tree and all that it has to offer is one we must never take for granted. Now it is the world that is going nuts over the benefits of its oily extract.
You are so right about the multiple uses. The well oiled hair is washed with soap that contains the same oil π
Absolutely, my grandmother who lived into her 90s had thick, long tresses that hardly had any grays in them. And the secret is simple – coconut oil.
Beautiful, deep meaning involves ππ
Thank you
Absolutely right. Each and every part is useful; how I wish I am also useful to every one in the society through all important parts of my body serving with noble thoughts, sweet words and useful deeds . Thanks and congrats Sunith.
